KYMCO Presents E-Bike Brand
KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan – In spring 2013 Taiwan based scooter and motorcycle manufacturer KYMCO will enter the e-bike market. This was announced exclusively to Bike Europe at last week’s Eurobike. The e-bikes will not be KYMCO branded but named Klever.
Unfortunately images of the KYMCO made Klever e-bikes are not yet available as they are still secret. However, some one hundred Klever e-bikes have been produced and are currently on the road in Germany and the Netherlands for intensive test rides.
The introduction of the Klever e-bikes next spring will not come with a full scale marketing campaign. According to Jeffrey Ho, President of Klever Mobility Inc. (a subsidiary of the Taiwanese scooter manufacturer) KYMCO wants their Klever e-bike sales to grow step by step. “We are going for the long term strategy and with a complete product range”, said Ho. “Next spring we will start our market introduction with a 25 km/h e-bike and 45 km/h speed pedelec.”
