TDCM Launches E-bike Motor with 5-Speed IHG
TAIPEI, Taiwan – E-bike motor manufacturer TDCM will introduce a next generation hub geared e-bike motor at Taipei Cycle Show next year. The first prototypes of this 5-speed IHG motor were already shown at the Taichung Bike Week last November.
TDCM was founded in 1996 to develop and manufacture high performance motors and propulsion system components for both electric two wheelers as well as other applications. Later TDCM became part of Ultra Motor. Following the Chapter 11 status of Ultra Motor in November 2011, TDCM was taken over by a group of European investors and is now an independent company.
TDCM has been supplying motors to Hero Eco, the new owner of (former Ultra Motor) A2B e-bikes, ever since. “We have also been able to start branching out to new customers, with great success”, said Harry Wigglesworth, Business Representative of TDCM. “Some of our current customers include Stromer, SRAM and Grace.
“Currently we have a growing product line including our latest patented cassette design motor and a range of motors from 250 to 800+ Watts. All our motors brushless direct drive types. We are looking to potentially release a gearless front motor next year.”
“One of our main products sold at the moment is the well-known dual pedal torque sensor which was initially designed for A2B bikes but is in mass production for other customers as well.”
