3T Adds Comfort to Drop Bar Ends
BREMBATE, Italy – 3T has filled in a gap in its range of road drop bars by launching a new ‘comfort’ model, Tornova. These drop bars combine the egg-section tops of the wildly popular Ergonova with the medium-deep, round drop bend of the more-traditional Rotundo.
Tornova is available in Pro, Team, and Ltd editions. In common with 3T’s other drop-bar families, Pro is built in AL 7050 alloy, Team in carbon-fiber, and Ltd in HM carbon-fiber.
Two new features
3T’s mastery of carbon-fiber fabrication permitted engineers to introduce two new features in Team and Ltd: internal cable routing, and stepped location for the brake shifter units. The stepped-location feature molds a small downwards step above the shifter clamp, so the shifter tops align truly flat with the top of the bar. This alleviates constriction of the rider’s handgrip and enhances the comfort of the handhold.
Improved ergonomics and comfort
3T CEO René Wiertz said of the new bar: “Many riders who prefer traditional drop bends would also like the comfort of wide tops and they asked 3T to produce this design. We took the opportunity to add in these new features that improve ergonomics and comfort.”
