TDCM Makes Internal-Gear Motor More Reliable
TAIPEI, Taiwan – TDCM developed two new motors to be presented at this week’s Taipei Show, alongside its new internal-gear motor showcased at last November’s Taichung Bike Week. The new product designs consist of TDCM’s first direct driven front and a rear hub motor.
The front hub motor will feature whisper quiet operation, a compact design fit with all popular wheel sizes between 16-inch and to 700c. The duel functional rear and front ultrathin hub motor will be only 20 millimeter across the main body of the motor with a 75 millimeter OLD.
36 months warranty
Both these motors will come in a range of customizable hub shells, including a range of colors, and be available for sample orders in Q2, 2013. These new motor designs also come alongside TDCM’s decision to increase its warranty, meaning that these new motors will be available with a 36 month warranty.
“This decision reflects our confidence in our design, manufacturing and quality control processes,” CEO of TDCM Lon Cheng states, “with our low recall and failure rate it was an obvious decision to pass this courtesy onto our customers.”
TDCM is still a respectively small motor company and as a result have kept to their key competencies of producing direct driven, gearless motors. George Chou Director of Sales and Product Development quotes “While our front hub motor’s performance may only be similar to comparable geared motors, it’s lack of noise and our confident three year warranty makes this an extremely desirable motor.”
