HeroEco & A2B e-Bikes: No Production at MIFA
RATZENRIED, Germany – A2B e-bikes, part of the Indian Hero Eco Group, will start producing its electric bikes by the end of this year in Germany. But not at MIFA. In Bike Europe’s August edition, the impression was raised that the A2B e-bikes would be assembled at the stock-listed German bike producer.
HeroEco Ltd. country manager Horst Schuster said at this year’s Eurobike Demo Day that A2B’s 3 topmodels – Entz, Obree and Orsted – will go into production at a bike production company located in Germany next December. Schuster declined to name the company, but emphasized that it is not MIFA.
That the impression was raised that HeroEco’s A2B e-bikes would be assembled at MIFA had to do with the end of July announcement of the Sangerhausen-based bicycle producer. That announcement was on the start of talks with Hero Cycles to form a strategic partnership. The MIFA announcement said that India’s biggest bike maker intends to acquire a minority stake in its German counterpart. At the Eurobike Demo Day HeroEco Ltd. country manager Horst Schuster stipulated that, “HeroEco is a company that stands apart from Hero Cycles.”
