Museeuw Bikes has never been very successful. In 2012 the company reported a 4 million euro loss. But Museeuw, known as the lion of Flanders during his professional road race career, refused to give up and earlier this year he found new investors for his company.

Eventually he teamed up with Randy Remue, an experienced business strategist who worked at Eddy Merckx Cycles previously. Remue, the new commercial director and shareholder, developed a new concept with a showroom, a test center and a Belgian Cycling Cafe in Lokeren. However, this meant the end for Johan Museeuw in his company.

The name Museeuw will remain linked to the bikes.
