Dutch Bicycle Suppliers Join Forces
AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands – Bicycle manufacturer Dutch Bicycle Group (DBG) and bike supplier TradeCare International have started a new initiative. As of December 1st both companies have integrated their activities in a new organization called ‘Bicycle Industry Group BV’ (BIG).
As a result of this cooperation DBG’s production in the Netherlands will shift to Eastern Europe. It will be integrated in the modern and well-equipped production facility of TradeCare International in Hungary. The Bicycle Industry Group will be chaired by Jan Hafkamp (TCI) and Rhody Udo (DBG).
TradeCare International assembles Hollandia, Pelikaan, Rössler and Swinckels branded bikes and delivers P&A and fitness equipment to retailers as well as OEMs. Dutch Bicycle Group is known for its Rivel, Ranger, Reflection and Maxwell branded bicycles for IBDs as well as DIY stores. DBG also runs a rental division and an after-sales service division. This rental division will remain in operating under its name Dutch Bicycle Rental.
“The new organization allows us to meet specific needs of our customers,” says Jan Hafkamp. “We can offer a much wider range of products and services for the mobility market, especially bicycles. The economy of scale makes it possible to accelerate product development, professionalize our organization and expand our product portfolio.”
DBG’s wide experience in production and assembly, product development and quality management will contribute to reach our goals in the mid-market segment”, explains Hafkamp. BIG’s bicycle portfolio will include the brands Hollandia, Rivel, Pelikaan, Maxwell and Swinckels.
The Bicycle Industry Group will be based in Deventer, the Netherlands.
