Neco’s Third Chinese Factory Operational
TIANJIN, China – To meet growing demand of bicycle producers in China’s Northern province Tianjin; Neco Parts opened its third factory in the country last December 1st. The Tianjin facility is Neco’s fourth production location after Taichung, Taiwan and Shunde, Guandon as well as Jurong, Ninjing in China.
“The group’s factory locations in Taiwan, Southern China, Central China and Northern China now allows us to serve our customers in a very wide area,” says Neco in a press release. The Tianjin factory measures 33,000 m² with a building area of 20,000 m² employing 100 people.
In the next few years Neco expects its staff to increase by another 350. They will mainly produce headsets as well as BB sets. The factory equipment includes machines for aluminum extrusion, cold forging and heat treatment. To facilitate future developments, Neco will continue to invest in new machinery, in line with the company’s growth strategy.
The opening of the Tianjin factory is the conclusion of the company’s so called ‘3rd stage of enterprise development’. This plan also included the creation of Neco’s R&D center based in Taichung, Taiwan which was opened in March 2012.
Neco was founded in 1985 in Taiwan. It started with eight employees and the production of small bicycle parts. Neco proved to be very successful and after three decades the company obtained a strong position in the bicycle industry offering a wide range of products. The company is also favoring a strong growth in the awareness of the brand name Neco. In line with Neco’s ‘3rd stage of enterprise development’ the company is offering more flexibility in the supply chain and product portfolio.
