The resignation of Andre Fuchs as of January 30 comes together with a reorganization of the company. “In order to strengthen our product development processes we hired two Development Managers,” says CEO Peter Jensby. “Furthermore we have expanded our Customer Care and Service Centre in Germany to strengthen the quality of our operation.”

Strategic decisions

Baltik Vairas believes these strategic decisions will result in a closer cooperation between the customers, the Baltik Vairas unit in Lithuania and BV-Cycles in Germany. “We expect more synergies in the development processes, new ideas and more alignment in our business culture,” states Peter Jensby.

Baltik Vairas reports a 24% year-on-year increase in sales to 10 million euro in the first quarter of the financial year which started on the 1st of September while the EBITDA increased by 0.6 million euro. In the previous financial year the company produced and sold 300,000 bicycles and e-bikes while total sales amounted 49.1 million euro.

Changes in Baltik Vairas’

According to Peter Jensby the changes in Baltik Vairas’ business practices are already clearly visible. The development of a standardization program has resulted in a reduction of components in stock by 45%, at the same time the lower quality components have been taken out the production process. On the other hand, Baltik Vairas did put new requirements in place for suppliers. Throughout 2015 all suppliers have to present quality certificates and allow regular quality inspections. Finally Baltik Vairas’ 2015 product portfolio will include more TÜV certified bikes than ever before.
