Haro To Establish European Operation
VISTA, USA – Haro Bicycles, a California based company established in 1978 and primarily known for its BMX bikes, announces the creation of Haro Europe. Next to expanding the distribution base, Haro Europe will also focus on establishing Haro as a MTB brand.
Haro Europe will primarily operate as a sales and marketing office and be located in Bielefeld, Germany. Jan Begemann, an industry veteran for more than 19 years has been appointed as the Managing Director for the operation. He is in the process of staffing the operation in order to meet its objectives. Haro Europe will focus on sales and support to its existing distribution base located in 21 countries, as well as opening new markets where no distribution currently exists.
MTB brand Haro
Founded in 1978 as a BMX company, Haro introduced its first mountain bike more than 30 years ago. Haro claims that it is a recognized leader in BMX/Freestyle. Haro Europe’s objectives include establishing Haro as a MTB brand with a similar level of success as the company has in BMX.
Shift in sales and distribution
Joe Hawk, Haro’s COO says about the set-up of Haro Europe. “All of us in the bicycle industry are experiencing a tremendous shift with regards to how bicycles are sold and distribution is managed and Haro is no exception. It is a time of great change where increased focus is required in order to be on the positive side of this shift.”
Haro offers performance bikes, parts and accessories to the BMX, dirt, freestyle/street, asphalt, and mountain bike markets. The company currently has over 1,200 dealers throughout the United States and distributors in more than 70 countries worldwide.
