Polisport Looking into OEM Parts
CARREGOSA, Portugal – As Portugal becomes a major production center for bicycles, e-bikes and P&A it brings new opportunities for local companies. Like for Polisport Plasticos SA.
In the bicycle sector this company is mainly known for its child seats that also come under the Bobike brand name. However, the capabilities of Polisport go beyond AM products. The Polisport Group consists of five companies with 260 employees. In the motorcycle sector it is an OEM supplier to (among others) KTM, BMW and Triumph.
In the bicycle sector Polisport already has an OEM base supplying to Decathlon. But, according to CEO & President Pedro Araujo this part of his operation in the bicycle sector can be greatly expanded with the opportunities Bike Value Portugal offers.
“In particular as we are used to dealing with OEMs,” says the Polisport President. “Mudguards, chainguards, grips we could do on an OEM basis and we are exploring these opportunities now.”
New child seats at Eurobike
Such new OEM products will not be displayed by Polisport at the upcoming Eurobike show. Here the company will be focusing on its core products; child seats for which it is presenting a new mounting system for its Groovy and Guppy models. Also new colours are added to the Guppy range while for Groovy there’s a new carrier plate. Polisport will also presents new Enduro and MTB helmets here.
