Holding over 50 international patents, Alber is the worldwide market and innovation leader in its segment of add-on drives for wheelchair users. The company is now launching its e-mobility brand Neodrives.

‘Integrated solutions’

Our team is constantly striving for better products and services to increase the amount of personal freedom for our customers,” says Ralf Ledda, CEO of Alber GmbH. “We are seeing a clear trend towards integrated solutions, The Neodrives system, which consists of a battery, motor and display, is increasingly becoming one with the bicycle itself.”

Alber wants to help shape this trend, which is why it offers manufacturers an attractive range of solutions that can be integrated into their own e-bike portfolio with very little effort.

Modular system Neodrives

To do this the developers designed Neodrives as a modular system the OEM can use to configure the right system to suit their needs. The basic version consists of a rear wheel hub motor and battery and can be combined with different battery and display variations. This means that products can be configured for a number of different purposes – from completely reduced urban bikes to fully equipped trekking bikes.

“Alber is the ideal partner for bicycle manufacturers who want to position their own brand at the cutting edge of the market. The superior driving qualities the Neodrives system features also warrant attractive premium positioning in the e-bike class, with bicycles between €2,500 and €3,000 euros,” says Ledda.

The Smart Connectivity app, which debuted at the last Eurobike, is now in its second year and continues to be one of the most intelligent solutions on the market. Once connected with a smartphone, the sMMI’s functional scope expands to become a comprehensive hub of information, including real start-finish navigation. The product handles in typically intuitive Alber fashion and requires no major technical expertise.
