Accell Sets-Up Raleigh Electric in US
SIMI VALLEY, USA – Accell Group is placing ‘strategic emphasis’ on its electric bicycle business in the US. For that, Europe’s biggest in e-bikes, is founding a new company called Raleigh Electric.
US based trade journal ‘Bicycle Retailer’ reported on the North American Accell plans recently. It says that Accell Group with the stand-alone business called Raleigh Electric intends to get to a very focused market approach.
Accell CEO René Takens typified the founding of Raleigh Electric as placing ‘strategic emphasis’ on the company’s e-bike business which is to replicate the Accell e-bike successes in Europe to the North American markets. Thanks to these successes currently 43% of Accell’s total turnover is made with e-bikes and e-MTBs.
E-Bike Competence Center North America
Raleigh Electric is to be based in California and headed up by Larry Pizzi. Pizzi is currently senior vice president of Accell North America’s specialty division. Pizzi will now report directly to Accell Group in the Netherlands. Raleigh Electric will be headquartered at the company’s existing Electric Bike Competence Center (EBCC) facility in Simi Valley.
