Located at the company’s HQ in West Finland, the dedicated plastic injection-molding factory has been doubled in size. The expansion is to accommodate new machines, a centralized drying system and the latest cooling pumps. Next to the plastic injection-molding factory  also Herrmans’ high-ceiling warehouse has been expanded by some 400m² as the company is aiming at improving its delivery-capabilities.

Two-step approach

“We have taken a two-step approach to cater for the increasing demand and the supply of our products,” said Herrmans CEO Tom Nordstrom. “Firstly, we needed space for additional machines to increase the production capacity and secondly by implementing the latest production tools and technologies for maximizing our output.”

Next to all the products for the Herrmans bicycle division the factory in West Finland also produces the lenses and housings for the company’s Nordic Lights industrial lighting division.

Developing future technologies

“By matching the investments in our plant to demand we are able to continue growth in the existing product lines while developing future technologies,” said Ronny Höglund, Herrmans Bicycle Business Unit Director. “We are the only lighting company capable of making the projector-lens in our H-Black Pro light in-house.”

History of over 57-years

Herrmans is the leading European manufacturer of grips, reflectors and rim tapes, with an increasing market share of bicycle lights and chain guards. The company provides components to most of the bicycle factories in Europe. For 57-years now the company is part of the bicycle industry under the brand Herrmans. Under the brand Nordic Lights the company designs and manufactures high-end lights and driving lights for heavy duty applications.
