Leader 96 Opened Second Bike Factory in Bulgaria
PLOVDIV, Bulgaria – On 30 June Leader 96 Ltd has officially opened the company’s second bike factory which is located near Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Leader 96 has invested some 6 million euro in the new 18,000m² production and warehouse complex.
Dimitar Zlatanov, CEO of Leader 96 Ltd officially opened the new factory which is targeting the production of mid to high-end bicycles and e-bikes. According to CEO Zlatanov Leader 96 achieved impressive growth in the last years. The investments in the new facility are in line with the company’s plans to continue its expansion.

At the official opening festivities Leader 96 CEO Zlatanov also said “This investment marks an important milestone in the development of our company. Combined with more than 20 years of experience in bicycle production and the high quality of our products, it will further help the company to continue its strong development. Our goal has always been to be among the leading European bicycle producers. The completion of our new factory brings us closer to achieving this goal.”
Bike factory capacities
With the new facility Leader 96 sees its yearly production capacity rise with 150,000 bicycles and e-bikes. They are produced by a staff of some 250 workers The factory has its own test laboratory as well as a training center – ‘Leader School’, for increasing the skills of its workers and engineers.
Leader 96 has been established in 1996. The new facility pushes the company’s yearly production capacity to some 400,000 units and its staff to 550 employees. Leader’s product range includes e-bikes, city, mountain, kids, folding, road and fitness bikes. Currently, more than 95% of its production is exported to countries like Germany, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Finland and others.
