“We see a huge potential for this premium brand on our home market as there is nothing available yet like this in India,” said TI Cycles of India President Arun Alagappan.

“India is the first market for us to license Schwinn and we are looking forward to extend our long-term relationship with TI Cycles of India,” said Dorel Sports Senior Vice President International Sales Jeff Weiss. “Schwinn USA will continue all to handle all product development and design while TI Cycles of India will take care of the production.”

Long time distributor of Schwinn

“The Schwinn-branded kids bikes fit perfectly in our ‘Track & Trail’ retail outlets,” explains Arun Alagappan. “Currently we operate some 200 Track & Trail shops in India and we expect this number to grow to 300 soon.”

Via its Track & Trail stores, TI Cycles of India distributes brands like Cannondale, GT, Mongoose, and Schwinn, but also Ridley, Montra, Mach City, Dahon, BSA, and Bianchi.

TI Cycles has been the distributor for all Dorel brands on the Indian market for many years. The Indian-built Schwinn bikes will be launched in 2018 and positioned at a premium level.
