Kindshock Builds New HQ and Factory in Taiwan
TAIPEI, Taiwan – Kindshock recently acquired a plot in Tainan, Taiwan where the company will start building its new Headquarters as well as a bigger than ever before factory. This fits with the growth ambitions of the company, which are also rumored to extend into the production of carbon components.
At last month’s Taipei Cycle Show Bike Europe talked with Kindshock CEO Martin Hsu about the already ongoing expansion of the Taiwanese company’s corporate headquarter and factory in Tainan. At a distance of only two kilometers from its present location Kindshock acquired a plot where it, with the support of its hometown Tainan, will build its new HQ and production facility. According to Martin Hsu, the offices and factory building will be “Three times bigger than our previous headquarters and Taiwan factory.”
Two China factories
Next to its base in Taiwan, Kindshock currently operates two factories in China. Here the company is producing entry-level priced Kindshock products as well as step-scooters. The company’s Taiwan operation is for high-end rear shock and seat post (including dropper-post) production.
The new buildings are scheduled to be completed at the end of 2019. The Kindshock plot is also to include a public bike park. Production start at the new facility will take a while. Martin Hsu expects this for January or February 2021.
With regard to the major changes at Kindshock in Taiwan, there’s also talk of the company’s own carbon production. In this context often countryman and carbon specialist Mekkem Industrial Inc. is named. At the time of writing Kindshock didn’t confirm any of this.
