TAICHUNG, Taiwan – NECO celebrated a milestone earlier this month at Eurobike. A milestone similar to some ten years ago when the Taichung, Taiwan based company that operates three factories in China, diversified its offering from headsets and bottom bracket components to pedals, hubs and chainwheels. Now NECO branches out into drivetrain components. And even electrical ones for meeting the current e-bike trend.

NECO offers two electric drivetrain types; a mid-motor and a rear wheel hub motor for Cargo bikes. The mid-motor is available in 250, 350 and 500W configurations in 36 and 48V. They are all capable of 80Nm max torque. The speed and torque sensored motor stands out for its silent operation; only 55dB. Weight of the mid-motor is 3.4 kgs.

ARX groupset

At Eurobike NECO also presented its new ARX transmission groupset for sports bikes. The NECO set contains 13-speed cassettes, derailleurs and shifters.
