French Sports Retail Chain Sets Up E-Bike Outlets
SASSENAGE, France – French multi-sports retailer Go Sport Groupe is launching a new chain of specialised cycling stores. The new retail chain is branded BIKE+. It has been set-up in view of, “The developing cycle market marked by a rising range especially with the appearance of electric bicycles.”
Go Sport Groupe operates more than 500 stores in France and abroad and has 4,600 employees. Apart from the Go Sport branded shops the company also operates Courir and Twinner stores.
First five BIKE+ shops opened
BIKE+ stores are to be opened at locations with a high potential in the cycling market. Go Sport will also integrate BIKE+ as specialised ‘shop(s)-in-shop’ in already existing sport stores. The first five BIKE+ shops have opened their doors and are located in Paris and in four other French towns.
All segments covered
The offering at BIKE+ stores covers all segments in bikes including e-bikes as well as P&A. The BIKE+ stores have workshops for after sales service. A Go Sport press release states that the BIKE+ stores will offer, “international top brands, more exclusive brands but also private labels like Scrapper.” Which top brands are to be distributed through the BIKE+ outlets is not disclosed.
‘Cycling is booming market’
André Segura, Groupe GO Sport Managing Director, said, “Cycling is now a booming market. For that we developed a brand dedicated entirely to cycling. Whether beginners or experts, all the bike lovers will find a suitable offer at BIKE+ as well as advise by employees who are cycling enthusiasts.”
