TAIPEI, Taiwan – One of the main new events at the Taipei Cycle Show 2008 is International Bicycle Trend Forum which is organized alongside the International Bicycle Design Competition. This Forum hopes to create an inspirational and influential platform where new market trends and the birth of new bicycle concepts can be brought together and integrated.
Furthermore, the environment for bicycles and cycling is changing drastically and rapidly – in social and environmental trends as well as in the field of politics. So, the leaders or CEO’s of world well-known bicycle industries will share in this Forum their experience and discuss together in what way the bicycle industry can better monitor and anticipate new trends and in what way the development strategy of the bicycle industry can proactively take the lead in these trends and can create valuable new products which are related to the real consumer requirements behind these new trends.
The 2008 International Bicycle Trend Forum will host 3 rounds of speeches:
Phase I (afternoon of March 13th, after the IBDC Award Ceremony):
“Marketing driven development strategy in the light of changes in the cycling environment”
Industrial leaders from the bicycle industry will give their views on the latest developments regarding protection of the environment through governmental ruling and the role bicycles and bicycle mobility may play. Furthermore they will address issue like the impact of safety requirements and regulations, trends of today’s global bicycle market and their view on the bicycle market for the years to come. The list of keynote speakers include:

Phase II (morning of March 14th):
“How Product Design can enhance and reinforce the development of an enterprise”
In this phase the two speakers from Germany and USA will explain how innovative design, implemented in a serious and consistent way in the process of marketing and product development, can offer a big competitive advantage to companies. Investment in product design has the potential of a very high return on investment, reinforcing and enhancing a companies future.
Phase III (afternoon of March 14th):
“New cycling ideas leading to new bicycle business”
In the 3rd phase it is time for the designers and marketers to offer their ideas in the light broad picture given in phase 1 and 2 by the industrial leaders. The speakers in the 3rd phase will illustrate these ideas with specific case studies offering proof for a new, vital and bright future of the bicycle industry.
