Recall Next Set Back for Scott
GIVISIES, Switzerland – Only one week after the burglary at the Scott Sports head office in Switzerland as Bike Europe reported, the company faced a new set back and had to issue a global recall of its Speedstar 2014 road bikes.
The recall includes the 2014 Speedster 30 and 40, the Contessa Speedster 25 and 35 road bicycles manufactured in Cambodia. They were sold in black and white with blue, green, purple or teal accents.
The following serial number ranges are included in the recall:
The serial number is printed on a white sticker and embossed on the underside of the bicycle frame near the pedals.
The problem is the steerer tube in the front fork which can break. Scott USA has received one report of a fork breaking. The recall involves 8,000 bicycles sold worldwide at authorized Scott dealers on-line and off-line.
