Hot Summer Accelerated Bike Sales in Finland

HELSINKI, Finland - This year's unusually hot summer had a refreshing effect on the bicycle market in Finland. All business data shows there have been busy days in retail shops throughout the summer. These shoppers were in particular buying Fat bikes and also electric bicycles. E-bike sales doubled, but in absolute numbers is still low.

E-Bike Sales Skyrocket in Nordic Countries

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - The hot and rain-free super summer of 2018 made e-bike sales in Sweden, Denmark and Finland to skyrocket. The markets for electric bicycles in the three Nordic countries are growing to maturity, while in Sweden sales are showing such growth that the country now ranks among the largest e-bike markets of Europe.

Nordic's E-Bike Sales Increase, But Markets Tend to Differentiate

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - While market characteristics used to be rather similar, bicycle sales in Denmark, Sweden and Finland is showing some striking differences this year. While in Denmark e-bike sales increased substantially, the Swedish e-bike market boomed by some 50%. Finland's overall sales is lagging behind.

Nordic Markets See Transformation to E-Bikes, Except Finland

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - The e-bike has gained a strong foothold on the three Nordic countries, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, although their overall bicycle markets declined. The transformation has not yet started in Finland. That only seems to be a matter of time as the Fins are already prepared to pay more for their bike than in the past as the volume in the top-end of the market expanded last year.

High-end bike sales is picking up in Finland leading to new brands like Pole presented here by designer and owner Leo Kokkonen at Eurobike.
