OHM Cycles Launches E-Bikes with Höganäs Motor

VANCOUVER, Canada – OHM Cycles released the first e-bike featuring the next generation transverse flux motors, developed by Swedish Höganäs, claiming 20% more efficiency and 50% more power than traditional e-bike motors.

“To create these bikes, we brought together a team with a broad range of expertise from design to engineering, said Michael DeVisser, co-founder and CEO of Vancouver based OHM Cycles. Delivering 50% more torque 18/40 Nm and 500W of power (250W for EU), the OHM Höganäs models offer superior efficiency with 10 Wh/km in mountain mode.

The performance of the transverse flux motor stems from the special 3D properties of its components, constructed from soft magnetic composites that reduce motor size, weight, and energy losses. The OHM e-bikes feature AllCell battery technology, claimed to have a longer battery cycle life, letting cyclists take advantage of longer battery performance.
