Third Generation Humpert Steps Back at 90th Anniversary

WICKEDE, Germany – Handlebar manufacturer Humpert is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. In the past decades Humpert has grown from a local handlebar maker to a major supplier in the bicycle industry with two production facilities in Germany and a trading business for bicycle components in Asia.

Next to the production facilities, Humpert also runs his own product development office in Stuttgart, Germany for two reasons. “Handling your own product innovation always keeps you one step ahead of your competitors especially when all new developments are DIN certified. These are simply more difficult to copy”, says General Manager Willi Humpert.

“Next to that we can’t just buy standard products from Asia but want to have these made according to our own specifications drafted by our Stuttgart office.” This year two members of the Humpert family, Usula en Wolfgang, are stepping back from the company after they have worked here for forty years.
