Battery Condition Test System for e-Bikes Launched
After consultation with major e-bike manufacturers in Europe and China, Dutch R&D company Engineering Spirit BV, announces the introduction of a new battery condition test system, specifically designed for the e-bike industry and their suppliers.
Engineering Spirit BV has a long standing experience in power electronics and embedded & technical software. Underlining the importance of the new BA 500 product, the Dutch company decided to consolidate this product line into a new, dedicated company in Hong Kong, currently under formation: Battery Condition Test International Ltd.
Alexander Kool, CEO of Engineering Spirit BV: “Our traditional activity is R&D on customer demand. The BA 500 could be seen as a spin-off of a battery condition test product that originally started by a product request of Hitachi (professional power tool division), but -other than our regular R&D approach- was developed after extensive consultation of the e-bike industry during 2011”.
Power electronics experience

Ltd. expects to be housed in the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park, a prestigious high technology HK address. Potential BA500 Customers
Serious e-bike manufacturers are concerned about their image with consumers who frequently challenge the performance of e-bikes. Practice has shown that they wish to perform an incoming inspection to ensure and confirm the quality of their e-bikes. Each tested battery (and charger) gets an automatically generated test report.
Alternatively, battery manufacturers can use the BA500 for outgoing inspection. Experience proved that only vendors with good quality expectations are open to this concept, which is why the e-bike manufacturers/importers have the dominant role in quality assurance.
E-bike dealers can purchase their own battery condition tester -at reduced cost (less than euro 500) via their e-bike vendor- and thus improve their service to the end-user and take title of the warranty handling.
