Dutch Dealer Chain Backed by Country’s Richest Man Buys 14th Store

ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands – The company’s 2011 revenue stood at 15 million euro made from 9 shops and 2 webshops. At the start of 2013 this biggest bike specialist chain in Holland, Hans Struijk Fietsen BV, took over its 14th store while also a new name popped up related to this new strong force in the Dutch market; International Bike Group.

The chain of dealer stores, Hans Struijk Fietsen BV, is part of the Amsterdam based International Bike Group (IBG). This company is founded by Bastiaan Hagenouw and Timon Rutten, the two former McKinsey consultants that started in bikes a few years ago. As part of IBG, Hans Struijk Fietsen BV is already the biggest bike specialist in The Netherlands. However, the company is aiming for continued growth for which it is co-financed by Holland’s richest man. At the start of 2013 Hans Struijk Fietsen BV announced the take-over of its 14th store. Well reputed All Bikes in Rotterdam has been added to the chain.

National coverage
Hans Struijk’s 14th store is located in the centre of Rotterdam. The store has an area of one thousand square meters. IBG’s Bastiaan Hagenouw said about this take-over. “We aim at getting to national coverage with the Hans Struijk Fietsen-format as soon as possible. On our wish list are all stores located in Holland’s bigger cities. That’s why All Bikes in Rotterdam perfectly suits our format.”

NPM Capital
International Bike Group including Hans Struijk Fietsen BV, is co-financed by the investment company NPM Capital which is owned by the richest man in Holland; John Fentener Van Vlissingen. Through another investment company called Boron Investment NV Fentener Van Vlissingen also owns 5.19% of all issued shares of Accell Group NV; Europe’s biggest bike maker.
