Smart Anti-Theft Solution for Bicycle Saddles and Wheels
BERLIN, Germany – For a cyclist it has been difficult, inconvenient and even impossibly to properly protect essential parts like the saddle, wheels and other components from theft. Hexlox found a simple solution for that problem.
The Hexlox works by simply inserting it into an already existing bolt on a bike. It blocks the insertion of a standard tool and has ultimately secured the part of the bike the bolt is holding. To remove the Hexlox just use the unique and personal key. “The lock has been tested by a member of Berlin Lockpicking Society. It remained safe and unopened,” says Hexlox CEO Marcus Tonndorf.
Recognition as best product
The Hexlox fits on all standard bolt sizes 4, 5 and 6 inch and prevent it from being unlocked. Hexlox can only be removed or installed by using a small pinkey. The new system has been under development for almost three years, and have already gained recognition as best product on the earlier this month held Taipei Cycle Show by German retailers.
Interest of large companies
“We have already managed to interest some large companies who will probably pre install Hexlox on their bikes,” says Tonndorf. Hexlox is a German based company focusing on solving challenges within the bicycle industry. The core team consists of Australian long time inventor Ian Berrell and Swedish serial entrepreneur and investor German Marcus Tonndorf. The company’s first product is the Hexlox.
