Miranda Presents Modular Crankset System
AGUEDA, Portugal – The XMOD is Miranda’s new completely interchangeable and modular crankset. According to the Portuguese component manufacturer “it is the first of its kind and it will redefine the flexibility and durability of bicycle cranksets.”
Thanks to the modular design the XMOD creates new opportunities to customize bicycles. XMOD consists of the three parts that make up a full crankset: the spindle, the spider and the cranks. All these parts can be swapped and still work flawlessly offering multiple configurations tailored to the riders needs and their bikes. Miranda provides a wide range of parts to choose from for all kinds of categories including, road, mountain, endure, downhill. BMX and trekking. The components variety will be expanded in the future.
Available for all major interfaces
The core of the system is the titanium spindles which are available for all of the major bicycles interfaces such as BB30 and 24/22mm. These spindles comes in various lengths and the other components are all compatible with any of these spindles.
The spiders are available with standard BCD’s which allows for customization. There are several options for BCD 88, BCD 104, BCD 104/64, BCD 110/110, BCD 110/74 and BCD 130/130. The XMOD system is complemented with direct mount chainrings including the newly developed ChainFlow chain retention teeth, enabling to reach weights less than 560 grams for a complete crankset.
Another option for customization of the crankset is the crank arm. These are available in various lengths and with multiple and distinctive finishes to give any bicycle that unique and personal touch.
To guarantee the best in material properties for the most extreme riding conditions all parts of this XMOD crankset are manufactured in full automated production facility of Miranda in Portugal. XMOD is being field tested and fine-tuned with the support of professional riders from Miranda’s downhill, enduro and road teams and will be available on the market in Q3.
