Accell D-A-CH Premieres MY 2020 Bikes in Mainz, Not at Eurobike

MAINZ, Germany – The premiere of the Accell D-A-CH order days, which took place yesterday and during the weekend, results in the fact that Accell Group will not exhibit at Eurobike this year. During a four-day event, Europe’s leading premium bicycle supplier presented the Haibike, Ghost, Winora, Koga, Lapierre and Babboe 2020 collections to its dealers and trade partners in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Eastern European countries.

Accel Group’s decision to not participate as an exhibitor at this year’s Eurobike has been preceded by other leading companies in the bicycle industry like Trek, Specialized, Giant and Pon Bike Group. Their arguments to say goodbye to Eurobike were similar to the reasoning of Accell Group “Offering an even better service to our dealers,” or “Allowing dealers to see and experience the product in an attractive setting,” or “Less dealer participation at Eurobike.”

‘Target-group orientated portfolio’

The Accell Group Order days were kicked-off by a VIP event last Friday night in the castle of Mainz. Here Accel’s Regional Director D-A-CH Dominik Thiele, explained why the company is not exhibiting at Eurobike. He said “At the start of the season we have rolled-out our new strategy for the D-A-CH region and integrated the sales and distribution of our brands in one strong organization. Subsequently the Order days are the next logical step for us to offer our IBDs an even better service and a target group-oriented portfolio. This makes our dealers even more relevant in the market than ever before.”

Accell Group’s Chief Marketing Officer Thecla Schaeffer added “For this year we choose to focus on our own event here in Mainz and not to exhibit at Eurobike. This decision is being considered every year.”

The Accell brand world was presented in a venue of 5,000 square meters and included MY 2020 portfolio of Ghost, Winora, Haibike, Koga, Lapierre and Babboe as well as E. Wiener Bike Parts. Next to product presentations the Order days included a support program with MTB trial shows, Accell Tech Training sessions, testing opportunities, Meet & Great with brand ambassadors and exhibitions of more than 50 partner brands.
