Pacific Cycles Targets Elderly
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Pacific Cycles debuted at last week’s Eurobike in Hall B1. It’s part of the company strategy to focusing more on Europe. And the time is right for that as the average age of the population is on the rise in almost all EU countries. In particular as Pacific Cycles targets elderly.
The company is renowned for its folding and compact bikes which it continues to make. However, it is now also eying a completely different target group. But one that will be growing rapidly in the next years. It’s about the elderly; people that face growing concerns over stability, but that still want to stay mobile.
For them Pacific Cycle has developed an electric tricycle in cooperation with Hase bikes from Germany. As a result of this cooperation this renowned trike maker is now being represented by Pacific Cycles in Asia while it goes the other way around for Europe. Here Hase Bikes represents Pacific Cycles.
The new Handy named tricycle by Pacific Cycles is powered by hand. However, that hand-operation is supported by an electric motor. Next to elderly this new Pacific Cycle trike also focuses on use by disabled people.
