KOBLENZ, Germany - By opening an Innovation Lab at its Koblenz headquarters, German D2C bike supplier Canyon Bicycle GmbH says it is taking "the next step in product development."

TREVISO, Italy - Pinarello majority owner L Catterton today announced that it has sold Pinarello, to a private family office. The terms of the transaction and the name of the new owner have not been disclosed.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - To cater for tyres for the European bicycle industry, Ralson India Ltd., Zleen s.r.o., and Mahansaria Ent. Pvt. have formed a joint venture. Ralson, having the majority stake in the JV, joins hands with Zleen with high ambitions to expand its European customer reach by providing application-specific tyres.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Direct to consumer e-bike brand Cowboy is increasing its offline footprint to offer additional retail and service solutions for new and existing customers. With the launch of its Retail Partner Network, the brand aims to partner with 300 IBDs in 60 cities across Europe by the end of this year.

HAIBACH, Germany - Battery manufacturer Akku Vision GmbH has acquired 51% of its supplier in the field of battery management systems, the company jvi gmbh. The acquisition came into effect on 1st July 2022.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - To support and grow mountain biking in Europe the International Mountain Biking Association Europe (IMBA Europe) and Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) have announced a 3-year collaboration.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany - In corona-year 2020, Eurobike is scheduled at the end of November with tailor-made solutions as a special-edition working trade show and industry get together at a European level. Over 450 exhibitor brands and ten thousand trade visitors and media representatives are expected at the Eurobike Special.

SHANGHAI, China - The postponement of the 30th China International Bicycle Fair which was scheduled for early May this year was inevitable. Initially the organization hoped that the fair could still take place in the second half of this year. That is not going to happen either. The next edition has been postponed to 2021.

TAIPEI, Taiwan - After a one year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2021 dates for Taipei Cycle Show have been announced. Exhibitor registration is now open for the event scheduled for 3-6 March.

WOUDENBERG, the Netherlands - Eugene Fierkens, Cycling Sports Group Europe's General Manager is not just planning to make his mark on brands such as Cannondale and GT, but is on a mission to lead changes in what he calls a broken system; the outdated 'model year' mindset in the bicycle industry. Eugene Fierkens made the transition to Cycling Sports Group (CSG) Europe in January 2019. Coming from 14 years at Specialized he is no stranger to the bicycle industry and was keen to tell Bike Europe about his visions for the future.

HAMBURG, Germany - Multichannel retailer Tchibo GmbH - a German chain of coffee retailers and cafés known for its range of weekly changing non-coffee products and service sales - announced a cooperation with Swapfiets, the Dutch bicycle concept known for its recognisable blue front-tired rental bikes and e-bikes, in Germany. Consumers can rent them via a monthly subscription fee including on-site all-around service.

ANNECY, France - The iconic brand Mavic has been in receivership since 2 May 2020. Nearly 10 months ago Mavic was officially sold by its parent company Amer Sports to the Californian private equity firm, Regent LP, for an undisclosed amount. However, the Mavic employees and the French unions now found out that another company is involved in the ownership.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany - In a video statement published today Eurobike show manager Stefan Reisinger expressed his concerns over the next edition of the biggest show in the e-bike and bicycle industry. "The most asked question is at the moment: will the show take place in September? My honest answer is right now: we are not sure," said Stefan Reisinger.

SALT LAKE CITY, US - The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) endorsed the launch of the new trade and consumer show for the hardgoods industry, including biking. The Big Gear Show will take place from 21 - 25 July 2020 at the Salt Lake City convention centre.
