    EU trade agreement could fulfill ambitions of India's bicycle industry

    BRUSSELS, India - The EU and India are intensifying bilateral contacts again with a view to concluding negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA). European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced during her speech in Davos that the first trip of the new Commission would be to India. "Together with Prime Minister Modi, we want to upgrade the strategic partnership with the largest country and democracy in the world," she said.

    ICC ruling: Beat Zaugg to cede his Scott Sports shares to Youngone

    PARIS, France - As reported by several Swiss media, Paris-based arbitration tribunal of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) handed down its verdict regarding Scott Sports SA (or Scott Sports Group) ownership. According to the ruling made on 6 February, Beat Zaugg, who is still co-owner of Swiss bike and winter sports supplier, is to cede his 47% stake in the company to majority owner Youngone Corporation.

At the last presentation of the annual results, Giant pointed out that the most difficult period for the industry has passed and is cautiously optimistic about the market performance in 2025. This statement doesn't mean the industry's warehouses are empty again and the market has passed its rock-bottom. However, after hearing Giant and Merida's announcements, component manufacturers have breathed a sigh of relief.

    Ideal Bike ends 2024 with 27.5% revenue drop

    TAICHUING, Taiwan -Taiwan´s third-largest bicycle manufacturer Ideal Bike Corporation significantly reduced its costs in 2024, according to the limited financial information communicated by the company. However, last year's revenue of TWD 2.65 billion (€737.46 mln) still represented a year-on-year drop of 27.5%.
