美國，華盛頓 (Washington)－美國總統川普引發的美中貿易戰造成自中國進口的自行車、電動自行車及相關商品都被列在25%關稅的商品清單中。原本11%的進口關稅再加上額外的25%，等於中國自行車需繳納36%的關稅。據美國最大自行車進口商Huffy Corporation表示，這將重挫自行車銷售，而且會壓垮美國自行車產業。

美國，麥爾茲堡 (Fort Myers)－川普政府近期對中國電動自行車及零部件加徵稅的行為可能已危害到美國快速增長的電動自行車市場。這次課稅導致市場中的商品價格大幅提升。被問及此事時，零售商及代理商都表示他們無法知道這會有什麼影響，但他們都相當擔心這波漲價會造成市場停滯。

德國，巴德索登(Bad Soden)－對於想購入電動自行車的消費者而言，電動自行車的騎乘距離多遠是很重要的一個考量因素。現行有許多不同方法能夠客觀地測量出結果，不過也只能在相當有限的範圍內做比較。德國產業協會ZIV（原文：Zweirad-Industrie-Verband）為此開發出一套 R200測試標準(standardized range test R200)。

北京／華盛頓－川普政府計畫對價值2000億美元的的中國商品從原本加徵10%的關稅，提升到25%。其中包含（電動）自行車及零部件。若美國總統川普堅持徵稅，這將會對全球的自行車與零件貿易造成嚴重衝擊，尤其美國每年進口超過1000萬輛中國製的自行車。

葡萄牙，阿威羅(Aveiro)－Rodi才在去年決定退出該公司在台灣採購的碳纖維輪圈及碳纖輪組市場，但今年又在Eurobike上以在地生產的Black Jack碳纖輪圈重回這塊市場。該公司在現有的Aveiro工廠投資生產全新碳纖輪圈的設備。

台灣，台北－台灣自行車協會(TBA)報告，今年前五個月的電動自行車出口同比增長38.9%。出口至少有110,548輛，其中有71,979輛是出口到歐洲。台灣去年出口到歐盟的電動自行車共有126,132輛。
