BARCHFELD, Germany - Wittkop GmbH, a subsidiary of the Büchel group took over the Italian saddle manufacturer Selle Esse, on May 1, 2021. PARIS, France - To face the huge problem of bicycle theft in France, the French Government has, since January 1st, 2021, passed a law which imposes the mandatory marking of all new bikes sold in a store or on the Internet. This law will be extended to second-hand bikes sold in retail shops from July 1st.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Eurostat import figures for the first four months of 2020 clearly point to the fact that the impact of COVID-19 on e-bike imports in the EU-27 countries is limited to a small decline of less than 3%. Notwithstanding the supply chain constraints and even order cancellations, these latest statistics once again mark the importance of the e-bike for the industry.
