Conference on Cycling Safety
HELMOND, the Netherlands – Initiated by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure & Environment, TNO, Fietsberaad (Dutch center of expertise on bicycle policy), SWOV and Delft University of Technology researchers and engineers will gather for the International Cycling Safety Conference in November.
The ICSC conference intends to be the premium forum for researchers and development engineers in the field of cycling safety to exchange their knowledge, to extend their network and to bring up new research topics and safety solutions.
The conference venue is the Automotive Campus in Helmond, the Netherlands. The program starts in the afternoon of the 7th of November with an insight in the cycling accident data and cycling safety policy in Europe.
The program includes presentations by experts on the interaction between motor vehicles and cyclists. On the 8th of November the focus is on the bicycle and the cyclist.
The registration fee for the conference is 150 euro, including a dinner on the 7th of November.
Prior to the opening of the conference and after the conference two international cycling safety projects present their findings. The AsPeCSS-project organizes a workshop on the 7th of November from 9 am until 2.30 pm. Straight after the ICSC2012 on November 8th the SaveCAP-project presents its results. These two activities are free of charge and will also be held at the Automotive Campus in Helmond.
