No Taipei Cycle Show in July
TAIPEI, Taiwan – TAITRA, Taiwan’s Export Development Council and organizer of the Taipei Cycle Show, announced today that the new Nangang Exhibition Hall 2, which is under construction will be opened in 2017. Till that year, the Taipei Cycle will continue to be held in March.
Earlier this year, at the opening ceremony of the Taipei Cycle Show last March, Taiwan Bicycle Exporters’ Association (TBEA) chairman Tony Lo, stated that, “some people are suggesting to change the dates of Taipei Cycle from March to July. It is something to think about.”
TAITRA and TBEA agree about show dates
Today’s announcement of TAITRA makes clear that the show dates will not change in the coming years. In a statement TAITRA says that, “TAITRA and TBEA have come to an agreement, that Taipei Cycle Show will stay in March in the following few years. We have a done very thorough survey with our exhibitors (domestic and overseas) as well as overseas visitors. Meanwhile, TBEA has also conducted a survey with their members and the result also supports the March show dates. Therefore the show will stay in March. The 2014 Taipei Cycle Show will take place from March 5 to 8. For 2015 the show have been set at March 18 to 21.
Registration Open for Taipei Cycle d&i awards
Today the kick-off for the 2014 Taipei Cycle takes place with the invitation of all manufacturers and designers in the bicycle industry to enter their products to compete for the 2014 Taipei Cycle d&i awards. Entries are accepted in the categories of Bicycles, Components + Parts, Accessories and E-Bikes + Pedelecs before December 20, 2013.
Since starting off three years ago, Taipei Cycle d&i awards have become Asia’s leading event for promoting design and innovation in the bicycle industry. It is organized by TAITRA and TBEA and implemented by iF DESIGN Forum GmbH.
All entries go before an independent international jury of experts, evaluating specifically innovation, quality, workmanship, choice of materials, environmental sustainability, functionality, utility, safety, ergonomics and universal design. All Taipei Cycle d&i awards winners will be presented in a special publication to be distributed to the international media, as well in a special zone at 2014 Taipei Cycle, and online at www.taipeicycle.com.tw, www.tbea.org and www.ifdesign.de
