Africa Cycle Fair Launched
GAUTENG, South Africa – Next October the Africa Cycle Fair will see its first edition in South Africa nearby Johannesburg. According to the show organizers they started the event to provide a cycling experience for the visitors and to create a retail and products presentation environment.
“Our primary goal is to communicate the message that cycling is a lifestyle and not only a competitive sport,” says show director Rob Heath. “Our fair was formulated to fill in a unique gap in the market. Traditionally South Africa has a very active eventing and racing culture; most of the big bike brands are represented here and we also have a very good history of bike building.”
“However, our market is not big enough to warrant a trade fair. So we have created a hybrid of trade and consumer fair. This fair not only provides a great consumer environment, it allows brands to build and strengthen relationships, and for local bike builders like Pyga, Momsen, Morewood and Mercer, to re-ignite the national bike building industry.”
The Africa Cycle Fair will take place from 24 – 26 October 2014. “We are expecting approximately 10,000 visitors and 120 exhibitors,” says Rob Heath.
