Taipei Cycle Incorporates Smart Cycling
TAIPEI, Taiwan – This year’s Taipei International Cycle Show advertises an entire revamping of the event with the theme ‘Smart Cycling’. By bringing together IoT and the various cycling related industries, the show aims to move Taiwan’s cycling industry in a more technologically advanced direction.
This year Taipei Cycle will be held from October 31 to November 3, “To keep pace with the new product releases from various cycling brands,” as show organizer TAITRA reports. “The show will not just be the big annual event for display and procurement, but even more the best place in Asia to see all the year’s newest models. The show is so popular with vendors that the 2018 edition will take place simultaneously at both Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 and Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 3.”
IoT and bicycles
Two main theme areas will be showcased at the halls: the IoT Zone and the New Enterprise Zone, where vendors of smart transportation applications, mobile wearables, and systems services and integration will share their innovations with cycling enthusiasts. Show organizer TAITRA says on this “With nearly 3,400 booths across two exhibition halls, we hope that through this innovative show, that Taiwan’s cycling industry can get on board with smart mobile technologies and smart exercise. IoT is no longer limited to IT or tech industries. Smart applications and IoT have made their way into areas like finance and consumer products. And with the advent of smart cities and the Internet of Vehicles, and topics like the sharing economy, it is easy to see how the Internet of Things is about to become part of our daily lives.”
Considering such rapid advances in technology TAITRA brought in several smart software and hardware companies, such as Bryton, MPS (under ACER), and Shutter Precision, to the show to link them with the cycling industry.
Taipei Cycle Forum
In addition to the larger scale of this year’s event and Demo Day, the show will also facilitate communications between international manufacturers and retailers. From March 23 to 24, 2018, the show will hold its first ever International Industry and Electric Bicycle Experience Forum in Taichung’s Lihpao Land.
Renowned companies like Decathlon and Intel have been invited to talk on the future of the industry in such topics as New Forms for Retailing, New Manufacturing & New Technology, and electric bicycles. The Forum is to serve as the perfect opening act for the innovative Taipei Cycle 2018 show.
