Shows & Events

MILAN, Italy – The combination of increasing e-bike sales and the cancellation of the Italian CosmoBike show in September results in a growing interest for participating in the e-bike section of the upcoming EICMA motorcycle and bike show. “The Italian e-bike market is recording a straing growth. Last year some 150,000 were sold; 19 percent more than in 2016,” says Andrea Dell’Orto, President of the Italian industry association Confindustria ANCMA.

“Also for this year sales proves to be very positive,” said Andrea Dell’Orto yesterday morning on the radio program ‘Capital Start Up’. For the President of Italy’s National Association of Bicycles, Motorcycles and Accessories Manufacturers (ANCMA), “e-bike mobility is now a reality, in Italy and many other countries. Our companies are contributing to this strong trend, not only in manufacturing and sales but are part of the whole supply chain as suppliers of components, in designs and in patents registries. In 2017 production in Italy of e-bikes increased by 48 percent compared to 2016.”

Anticipating on the 2018 International Bicycle, Motorcycle and Accessories Show (EICMA) which will take place in the pavilions of the Milano Rho Fair from 6 to 11 November, Andrea Dell’Orto stated that they decided to increase the e-bike dedicated area. “Here visitors can discover, test and learn more about everything concerning the universe of electric bikes.”

Dell’Orto furthermore said, “Innovation has always been an important part of EICMA. The past two editions already included an e-bike area. For this year we have decided to enlarge the e-bike floor space and offer more e-bike related companies the opportunity to present themselves to the market.”
