Messe Friedrichshafen has designed this new event as a B2B2C platform for the South-East Asian market. “The Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) region is a promising future market as the number of production sites are expanding continuously,” explains Eurobike show manager Stefan Reisinger. “In addition to the growing production of bicycles and components in the South-East Asian region, also income and the standard of living are increasing, as is the demand for high-quality bikes. We see great potential here, both for sourcing by OEMs as well as a future market for western brands.”

Central meeting point for the industry

“ASEAN Bike offers multiple exhibition and meeting options, from classic trade show booths to OE meetings, importer meetings and retailer events, as well as test tracks and demo days,” says Stefan Reisinger. “We selected the month of October as the industry has a proven need for a central meeting point in the ASEAN market in this time window.” In addition to Thailand, the ASEAN region includes Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar as well as the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Brunei.

“Given its logistics and infrastructure, Bangkok is the ideal location for an international trade show. The city with millions of inhabitants has two international airports and countless hotels and restaurants. Moreover, cycling in Bangkok is becoming more and more popular, thanks notably to government infrastructure investment in the metropolis.”

Advantage of a local partner

NEO will be operator of the show at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok. “It is a great advantage to be working with a local partner with long-standing experience of successfully planned and implemented industry trade shows,” says Stefan Reisinger.

President of the N.C.C. Group Sakchai Pattarapreechakul, is also very content to be working together with Messe Friedrichshafen. “With our joint expertise we will be able to deliver a state-of-the-art and informative trade fair for the ASEAN bicycle market,” says Pattarapreechakul.
