    Physical inactivity threatens sports industry, including bicycle sector

    GENEVA, Switzerland - The global sporting goods industry has launched the first-ever Sporting Goods Physical Activity Impact Report. The report highlights the escalating global physical inactivity crisis and the urgent need for increased cross-sector collaboration. It may sound contradictory. More and more people are using bicycles for mobility, but this industry is also experiencing the consequences of an increase in inactivity in the field of cycling sports.

    WFSGI appoints new CEO

    ITTIGEN, Switzerland - Emma (Mason) Zwiebler has been appointed World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) chief executive officer from May 1, 2024. Her new position follows her term as interim CEO since November 1, 2023 since former CEO Robbert de Kock left the organisation.

    MUNICH, Germany - The bi-annual leading industry conference World Cycling Forum has been postponed to a later date. This was announced by organizer WFSGI (World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry).

    Robbert De Kock to step down as CEO of WFSGI

    ITTIGEN, Switzerland - The World Federation of Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) is to have a new CEO. After a successful 16-year tenure, Robbert De Kock, has decided it is time for him to leave the organisation and hand over the baton to a new leader. The WFSGI Board has appointed Emma (Mason) Zwiebler as Interim CEO from 1 November 2023.
