BUDAPEST, Hungary - The e-bike and bicycle industry in Hungary is facing serious shortage of parts and components due to supply chain problems. This topic was addressed by Róbert Sipiczki, founder and managing director at the Hungarian manufacturer Bikefun Ltd. and secretary general of the Hungarian Cycling and Trade Association (MKKSZ) in the Hungarian media.

OBERWANGEN, Switzerland - Naxicap Partners has taken-over the well-known speed e-bike manufacturer Stromer as the company reported today. Details of the agreement were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary approvals.

COLOGNE, Germany - In the current market of high demand for high-quality e-bikes the planning for the construction of an all-new factory for Kettler Alu-Rad could not have been better. The new facility in St. Ingbert, Germany will not replace the old one, but is an addition to the existing capacity in nearby Hanweiler.

Jeff Weiss joins Hero International from Madison-based Saris Cycling having worked in the bike industry for 20 years in senior roles including at Trek and Dorel Sports.

MONTREAL, Canada - Dorel' sports division which market brands including Cannondale, GT, Schwinn and Mongoose, reports an ongoing increase in sales. For the first quarter of the year, turnover increased by 43.6% year-on-year to US$270.3 million.

ALMELO, the Netherlands - A batch of goods was stolen recently during a burglary in one the warehouses of the bicycle factory Sensa in the Netherlands. Apparently the thieves were particularly aiming for Shimano e-bike components next to a series of carbon mountain bike frames.

CLOPPENBURG, Germany - The name of the German bicycle manufacturer Derby Cycle is history. Owner Pon Bike Group (PBG) has changed the company name into Kalkhoff, similar to one of brand names used by Derby Cycle. In addition, the historic Kalkhoff production site in Cloppenburg will be completely revamped.
