LONDON, England - Sales data collected from UK e-bike and bicycle retailers show that the market has taken a huge drop in 2022. With e-bike sales plateauing and regular bike sales dropping 22%, the country's Bicycle Association is calling for action as the market hits a 20-year low.
HAIBACH, Germany - Battery manufacturer Akku Vision GmbH has acquired 51% of its supplier in the field of battery management systems, the company jvi gmbh. The acquisition came into effect on 1st July 2022.

BERLIN, Germany - Claus Fleischer, managing director of Bosch eBike Systems, has been elected to join the Board of Directors of Zweirad Industrie Verband (ZIV). The German industry association has also been forced to replace board member Severine Lönne of Cycle Union/Prophete due to the insolvency situation in these companies.
POOLE, England - E-bike sharing platform Beryl is gearing up for the next stage of its growth after securing a £2 million (€2.25 mln) investment. The funding will support the micro-mobility firm in upscaling its UK manufacturing base with a new factory and develop its new e-bike model.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Key figures from the EU Commission, Parliament and national governments will speak during the Cycling Industries Europe summit this year. The line-up includes executive vice-president of the EU commission, Frans Timmermans. Being held on March 9th in Brussels the summit will address how policies will affect cycling businesses in coming years.
ROOSENDAAL, the Netherlands - Timyo, the international group manufacturing mid to high-end e-bikes under the brands Van Dijck, Keola and Muon, has high ambitions. Having already established a solid dealer base in Europe, a market entrance in North America is now underway and sights are set on bringing high quality e-bikes to the US. "Our goal is to have 200,000 sales of high-end e-bikes by 2026," Timyo CEO Steve Zhu tells Bike Europe.
FRANKFURT, Germany - Eurobike will have at least 400 new exhibitors when it returns to Frankfurt this year. Not only is the number of participating exhibitors increasing, the expo area will also be expanded compared to last year, the organisers Fairnamic have announced. Eurobike will be held from June 21 to 25 in Messe Frankfurt.
HOLZWICKEDE, Germany - Finnish bicycle component exporter, Herrmans Bike Components Ltd has established a new German subsidiary, Herrmans Bike Components GmbH. Having had a presence on the German market since 2007, the company calls it "a natural continuation and reinforcement of the company's long-term commitment and presence in Germany."
WELS, Austria - Austrian two-wheeler giant, Pierer Mobility continued its success in 2022, the company's latest financial report shows. Under its e-bike and bicycle business, Pierer E-Bikes GmbH the company achieved sales volume growth of more than 15% compared to 2021.
