    Delayed deliveries impact financial results of hGears

    SCHRAMBERG, Germany - In line with the company's strategic goal of expanding its business activities and increasing market share, hGears reports for its e-mobility business area a 2021 sales growth of 3.5% to €47.5 million. For the full year 2022, hGears expects high single-digit group revenue growth.

    E-bike sales propel Pon.Bike turnover to €1.3 billion

    AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - In 2021, the Dutch mobility giant Pon Holdings achieved a turnover of no less than €8 billion with an operating profit of €559 million. Pon.Bike - and in particular its e-bikes - contributed no less than €1.3 billion to that turnover.

    Shimano outgrows Dutch distribution centre and opts for outsourcing

    NUNSPEET, the Netherlands - Shimano Europe has announced that it intends to completely outsource its warehouse activities which are now based in Nunspeet, the Netherlands. In a statement the company says, 'the distribution centre in Nunspeet has outgrown its capacity'. A new service provider is yet to be determined, but the move could lead to a loss of up to 45 jobs.

    Sponsored Schwalbe inner tube recycling as a prime example of circular economy

    Already available in five European countries, cyclists can hand in their old bicycle inner tubes to their specialist dealer instead of simply throwing them away. Tyre manufacturer Schwalbe recycles the old inner tubes and utilises the material to produce new ones. This saves large amounts of energy; every new Schwalbe inner tube already contains 20% recycled content.

    China Cycle show postponed until further notice

    SHANGHAI, China - The implementation last Monday of China's most extensive lockdown measures in two years in Shanghai has made the China Bicycle Association decide to postpone the China International Bicycle Exhibition, otherwise known as China Cycle.

    E-bikes booming in Poland, survey shows

    PRZASNYSZ, Poland - As many as 86% of respondents in a recent survey have noticed the growing popularity of e-bikes on the streets in Poland and 84% admit that e-bikes can be a convenient way to get around the countryside. Commissioned by the Polish bike manufacturer Kross, the survey shows that sales of e-bikes have huge potential for growth like in other European markets.

    French government to re-develop national bicycle industry

    Record sales continue for Giant Group with 2021 profits up 20%
