TAIPEI, Taiwan - More than 1,100 exhibitors are lined-up for the 29th edition of the 2016 Taipei International Cycle Show which will open its doors on next week on March 2nd. The revival of the European market as a main export destination for Taiwan's bicycle industry will have a major impact on the show dynamics.

VEENENDAAL, the Netherlands - At next week's Velo-city Global Congress and Taipei Cycle Show lights and lock maker Axa is launching the world's first smart E-Lock. By making it an integral part of a bike rental (back office) system more markets can be served with shared bikes without docking stations or additional to the new smart dockings.

BAUNACH, Germany - Messingschlager has started distributing the Overade Plixi foldable helmet. The award winning helmet was designed by Philippe Arrouart and marketed by Clément Cailleau. It is already widely available in France and it is expected to be distributed Europe wide soon.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - The Copenhagen Bike Show saw its premiere in March 2015 and was an immediate success with more than 10,000 visitors. Focused on innovation, design and functionality the event has managed to increase the number of foreign exhibitors for the 2016 edition next month.

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Josh Hon, Founder and Team Captain of Tern Bicycles, will deliver a talk on "Accelerating the Goal of Sustainable Transportation in Asia" at the Velo-city 2016 conference on March 1st in Taipei. OSLO, Norway - The bicycle season in Norway made a very slow start due to cold spring weather. Later in the summer the market did not manage to make up for the earlier losses. The Norwegian Sporting Goods Association (Sportsbransjen AS) estimates the total market for 2015 at 400,000 units, down 2.5% from 410,000 units last year.

HELSINKI, Finland - In the past years, the Finnish bicycle market showed two parallel developments. The demand for better and more technical bikes is increasing, but on the other hand the market for low-cost bikes is also flourishing. This trend continued in 2015.

TREVISO, Italy - Italian road racing icon brand Pinarello will not exhibit at Eurobike 2016. That the company skips the biggest bike show in the world this year is due to "radically changed business strategies."

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Founded as a folding bike company five years ago, Tern is celebrating this anniversary with the introduction of a completely new bike line developed in collaboration with the Japanese design studio Kitt Design.
