TIMISOARA, Romania - German Corratec is the next in the industry to start bicycle production in Romania. On 6 August the company celebrated the grand opening of its new production facility in Timișoara.

NANTOU, Taiwan - The transition from a bicycle to e-bike centered industry brought major changes to Taiwan's export industry. New companies have been founded in the past few years while also the country's renowned electronics industry is presenting itself more explicitly in the e-bike industry. One of the recent starters in the e-bike industry is Yota Cycles, founded in 2020.

ZURICH, Switzerland - Following successful trials in Zurich, Atlanta and Seattle, Lime is readying its release of a new e-bike to European and North American city streets. The micromobility rideshare company has capitalised on the idea of grab-and-go transport for years with its fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, and currently boasts a history of more than 750 million rides across hundreds of cities worldwide.

GIRONA, Spain - Tech start-up Niche Mobility has secured €1.6 million in funding to power the next development stages of its patented ADTS electric motor for e-bikes. In March, the Spanish company closed its successful investment round, led by strategic partner Copreci and supported by the Mondragon Promotion Fund and regional investors.

BRUSSELS, Belgium — "The legal equivalence with bicycles laid the strong foundation of the success of the e-bike," claimed German trade association ZIV earlier this year. At the same time, it proposed imposing additional technical restrictions on e-bikes and dividing e-bikes into two categories governed by separate legal frameworks. LEVA-EU refutes this claim in a response, calling it "unfounded" and has repeatedly called for the creation of a dedicated LEV regulatory framework instead of following a "narrow industrial agenda."

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Two Chinese battery manufacturers, Phylion's subsidiary Joycube and Greenway, told Bike Europe of their intent to open factories in Hungary during this year's Taipei Cycle show. As e-bike sales begin to dominate in key European markets and new battery regulations come into force, localised manufacturing and servicing have become a key focal point.

SCHWEINFURT, Germany - Following a brief take-over by Austria's Pierer New Mobility, R Raymon Bicycles will now continue its journey as a 100% independently owned company under the guidance of founders Susanne and Felix Puello. Since 6 March a new chapter begins for the German bike brand. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by either party.
