    New Polish e-bike factory backed by Chinese home electronics giant

    FRANKFURT, Germany - Poland is gaining relevance for e-bike assemblers and a new factory is on the horizon. Backed by NKI, a Chinese manufacturer of home appliances for the global market, Polana Bikes has ambitions to produce 80,000 e-bikes per year when fully up and running.

    Construction begins on Pon.Bike factory in Lithuania

    KĖDAINIAI, Lithuania - The new factory for the world's largest family of bicycle brands, Pon.Bike, has started to take shape in Lithuania. Construction has now begun on the 12-hectare site. The factory, which will start operations in the summer of 2024 is part of Pon.Bike's strategy to produce bikes close to market.

    Battery Experts Forum switches Frankfurt for Darmstadt in 2023

    KARLSTEIN AM MAIN, Germany - The international battery industry will meet again at the Battery Experts Forum in 2023. This year the event will take place from 7-9 November in Darmstadt, Germany the organisers BMZ have announced.     Strong export market helps Brompton hit 1 million landmark

    LONDON, UK - Brompton Bikes has marked the building of its millionth folding bike at its factory in Greenford, London. The landmark comes 47 years after it was first invented in 1975. Today the company produces around 100,000 bikes per year, but with new investment plans in place it might not be such a long wait until the next milestone is met.

    UK lowers anti-dumping tariffs for two Chinese e-bike manufacturers

    LONDON, UK - For the imports of two Chinese e-bike manufacturers, the UK government has imposed an anti-dumping tariff rate of only 16.2%, as opposed to the standard 62.1%, the UK's Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has announced. The reduced tariff will refer to e-bikes entering the UK.

    SRAM to open service centre in Italy and expand distribution with Accell SEU

    CHICAGO, US - Component manufacturer, SRAM, is extending its presence in the Italian market by opening a new Technical Service Support Centre. Developed in partnership Italian distributer Beltrami TSA the new service centre will be fully operational as of January 1, 2023. A new distribution deal with Accell will also begin next year.

    No stopping Portuguese bike exports as growth reaches 38%

    AGUEDA, Portugal - Portuguese exports in the two-wheel and soft mobility sector grew 38% in the first half of 2022, Eurostat data confirms. Importantly, e-bike exports grew by more than 60%. For the third consecutive year, Portugal continues to be the largest bike producer in Europe.
