    EBMA Denies Request for Dumping Investigation on China Made E-Bikes

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - Last week on November 22 the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products held an 'Alert Meeting on the EU anti-dumping investigation for e-bikes.' The European Bicycle Manufacturers' Association (EBMA) denies to have submitted an application to the European Commission requesting to start an investigation on the dumping of e-bikes and speed e-bikes made in China and exported to the EU member states.

    German Market Grows in All Segments

    BERLIN, Germany -Thanks to the growing popularity of the e-bike, the German bicycle market is in pretty good condition. In 2014 the market volume increased by 8% while 2015 showed a 6.6% growth to 4,350,000 units, reported the national industry association ZIV.

    Bicycle market in the Netherlands slides down by 6%

    AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - The Dutch market saw a slight decrease of 6% from 833,366 units in 2022 to 804,101 units last year. Thanks to a higher average retail price the revenue was down only 3.7% from 2022 to €1.4 billion in 2023. According to Huub Lamers, chairman of the section bicycles at the industry organization RAI and COO at Pon.Bike, "in times of supply chain constraints, we lack the availability of high quality data. The information we share today is based on sell out data, but we only have estimates on the number of bicycles and e-bikes in the pipeline."
