The company reported a 48.5% year-on-year decline in turnover to RON 119.5 million (€24 million) for 2024. While the country was once regarded as a leading production location for the bicycle industry in Europe, it has been hit unevenly hard by the current industry crisis.

Owners had been told to stop riding their Babboe due to the hazard of breaking frames months ago, but only on 20 June the US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall notification.

HEERENVEEN, the Netherlands - A newly released report is causing a stir at Dutch cargo bike manufacturer Babboe, owned by Accell Group.
