KOPRIVNICE, Czech Republic - Marek Sebek has been appointed as new sales director by bicycle manufacturer Bike Fun International (BFI). Prior to arriving at BFI, Sebek spent the past eight years at Trek Bicycle in Switzerland, including a five-and-a-half-year stint as head of sales. COLOGNE, Germany - Taiwanese bicycle manufacturer Tern has announced plans to establish its first distribution office in Europe. Dubbed Tern ZE, the Cologne-based facility will begin operating on 1 July 2025 and should enable the firm to better support its customers in Europe.

SANTA CRUZ, California - A global recall has been issued for the Santa Cruz Heckler 9 bike model after multiple battery fires were reported. The Santa Cruz-based company, a subset of the Dutch transport conglomerate Pon Holdings, first issued the recall in May, warning customers that the e-bike's lithium-ion battery can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

BERLIN, Germany - Brose SE has completed the transfer of its e-bike drive business to Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. For the Japanese company, this acquisition is part of its efforts to establish a strong position for competitiveness and achieve the business growth outlined in its management plan. Yamaha paid approximately €30.6 million in cash for the e-bike operation.

VIENNA, Austria - Austrian kids' bicycle supplier Woom GmbH is continuing its growth path with strong half-year results. In the first half of 2025, Woom has achieved its best half-year results since it launched in 2013. Revenue rose by about 41% compared to 2024, reaching €90.1 million.
